It was really nice to get back home after the three day trip. One thing I noticed especially much on getting back is that Tokyo has a very distinct smell over all the city. It’s not fumes or food or anything like that. It’s just a very unique smell, like walking into some elses apartment. When living here you don’t notice it, but when getting back, it really hit me, and I like it. :)

However we still have or Japan Rail Passes that give us free travel with Japan Rail, they are valid to the 12th. So we’re trying to travel around as much as we have energy for and try to find as much interesting as we can with Wikitravel.

Today we went to Kamakura to see a huge Buddha, it’s 13 meters tall and really awesome. But again, there were a lot of tourists that kind of ruined the mood. But the statue was really cool!

Kamakura had a really nice beach too that apparently a lot of Tokyo’ans go to during high-season as well. The beach was lined with bars that were being built. So during high-season I think it could really kick ass, unfortunately, that high-season was not now.

Getting back to Tokyo (which was 1 hour trip today and not 5 hours like last time) was again nice, and we had really great weather all day so the evening sky was really beautiful.

“smell” can make or brake a location, it’s like the “voice” with humans. Some people you just can’t stand cuz their voice is annoying, others are just cool by default because they sound so nice (OK maybe that’s just me lol)

Thanks for posting in English btw!! Saves me some google’ ism ;P
