We got ourselves a rice-cooker today. It’s sort of a must-have thing in Japan. I already love it and am probably going to eat even more rice from now on. It’s awesome. Today we made this:

Tonights dinner!

Tell me about it — rice > potatos AND pasta.

Also, try having a hot pot evening. Google for 'hot pot', it's like fondue but Asian style. Just use the rice cooker as the pot!

Rice rocks, I eat it like 5 to 6 days a week, the rest is pizza / pasta ;P

Don't think we have rice cookers like that here, those I know are so simple looking compared to this thing: http://pan.fotovista.com/dev/1/2/00002121/l_000… The rice looked good too, so it seems to work perfectly. The end result made me hungry for real, nice synergy between the 2 of you in the kitchen xD

That looks SO yummy *q* I didn't know that Emma is a good cook :D
What kind of seasoning was that?? Looks Chinese to me.

Also, I've never seen the person who opened the rice cooker which was still cooking XD

We used this finished oil-spicing-thingy from this picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajkjuu/4808182737/

I put a note in the picture around the one we used.

I was just looking to see how it was doing! XD

Another good thing to use as a rice cooker is your microwave and a plastic “ice cream” jar. Make a few small holes in the lid pour in twice the amount of water as you put in rice, some salt, rice vinegar and nuke it att full effect in 5-8 minutes, then let it sit a while and its DONE!!!
Hehehe I couldnt resist posting this after you bought the cooker…

Hehe, true true. Though a real cooker has a bunch of other options, the biggest one being that it can keeps the rice warm for hours before/after you cook so you don't have to plan your cooking as much.
